The concept of heaven and hell, as described in the Bible, transcends our earthly understanding and physical limitations. Jesus speaks of a reality beyond this life. In Matthew 25:46, He says, “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” This indicates that life after death is not bound by the physical constraints we know now.
The Apostle Paul also speaks to this in 1 Corinthians 15:42-44, where he discusses the resurrection of the dead: “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.”
These passages suggest that our existence after death involves a transformation into a spiritual state, one that is capable of experiencing the realities of heaven or hell in a way that transcends our current understanding. It is a mystery that invites faith and trust in God’s promises and justice.
