“Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.”

The call for justice is a theme present in the Scriptures. In the Book of Revelation, we find a powerful image related to this: “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” (Revelation 6:9-10).
This passage shows the cry of those who have suffered for righteousness. It is a reminder that God sees all injustices and hears the cries of the innocent and oppressed. The Scriptures encourage believers to trust in God’s perfect justice and timing. Though human justice may seem delayed, the Bible assures us that God’s justice is inevitable and true.
