It’s understandable to feel fear when considering subjects like hell, the anti-christ, and the apocalypse, as these topics touch on deep questions about the future, judgment, and the unknown. The Bible does speak to these concerns, offering both warnings and hope.

Regarding hell, Jesus spoke about it to warn us of the consequences of sin and the reality of judgment. For example, in Matthew 25:46, He mentions, “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” This is a call to live according to God’s will, seeking His forgiveness and striving to live righteously.

The anti-christ is mentioned in the context of end times and false teachings. 1 John 2:18 says, “Children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.” This warns us to be discerning, to know the truth of God’s word, and not to be led astray by false teachings.

The apocalypse, or the end times, is detailed in books like Revelation. While these passages contain imagery that can be frightening, they also carry a message of hope for those who trust in God. Revelation 21:4 offers a vision of God’s ultimate promise: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

It’s important to remember that the central message of the Bible is one of love, redemption, and hope through Jesus Christ. In Him, we have the promise of salvation and eternal life, which conquers the fear of death and the unknown. John 3:16 assures us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

In times of fear, turning to prayer, scripture, and the community of faith can provide comfort and guidance. Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Lean on His promises and the hope we have in Christ.
