The Bible does not specifically mention DNA, as it was written long before the concept of genetics and the molecular structures that underpin heredity were understood. However, the Bible does affirm that God is the creator of all things, including every aspect of human life and the intricacies of the natural world.
For instance, Psalm 139:13-14 poetically reflects on God’s role in our creation: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” This passage can be understood to imply that all components of our being, including the genetic information that makes us who we are, are the work of God’s creative hand.
Moreover, John 1:3 states, “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” This further supports the belief that everything in creation, down to the smallest detail, is the result of God’s intentional act of creation.
While the Bible does not directly address DNA, it affirms God’s sovereignty over all creation, which includes the laws of nature and the complexities of life at the molecular level.
