Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity, believed by Christians to be the Son of God, the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, and the Savior of humanity. His life, teachings, death, and resurrection are foundational to Christian faith and are recorded in the New Testament.

According to the Bible, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin named Mary, and began His public ministry around the age of 30. He taught through parables and sermons, performed miracles, healed the sick, and demonstrated God’s love and power in tangible ways. One of His most famous teachings is the Sermon on the Mount, which includes the Beatitudes, found in Matthew chapters 5-7.

Jesus’ mission was to fulfill the law and the prophets, providing a way for humanity to be reconciled to God. This was accomplished through His death on the cross as a sacrifice for sins, and His resurrection three days later, as evidenced in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”

John 3:16 encapsulates the core of Jesus’ purpose and the Good News of the Gospel: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus is also recognized as the Word made flesh (John 1:14), fully divine and fully human, who came to dwell among us, offering salvation, grace, and the promise of eternal life to all who believe in Him. He is the mediator between God and humanity, the Good Shepherd, the Light of the World, and the Prince of Peace. Through His teachings and actions, Jesus showed the way to live a life of love, humility, and service in accordance with God’s will.
